So I have been trying to get the Gregarious Word Press Plugin to work with my blog and have come across a few minor problems. The biggest is none of my old front page submissions will show up. At first I got nothing from digg at all but eventually I was able to get this error:

Digg.com Digg This Button Error\n\nThe code implemented by the creator of this page has the following problem:\n\nA Digg Permalink URL was detected; however, that item cannot be found on the website. Please check the URL provided.\n\nVisit http://digg.com/tools/integrate for more help in debugging.

So anyway I made this post to check if it was just old posts that wouldn't show up and indeed that is the case as you can tell by the digg badge showing up at the bottom of this article.

  1. apparently my digg friends suck ass.

  2. Anyway, I haven’t figured out what is wrong with my old posts not showing up, however I have gotten the Gregarious plugin working in all other respects. Has a really slick admin interface and is pretty easy to configure.

  3. Ryan, have you changed the permalink structure of your weblog at all? The error message seems to be saying that Digg can’t find the page associated with that link. Otherwise, the Digg button is showing nicely. (Redoable is a great theme!)

  4. Hi Ankur

Yes, I have changed my permalink structure a long time ago, but I submitted the stories to digg with that structure.

    You will notice:

    http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_to_Top_Users_QUIT_NOW

    refers to:

    which clearly exists. Any ideas?

  5. Ryan, did you investigate this problem? Write the results please

  6. No regardless of what digg button I use some of my older submissions simply will not work.

    That for example.

I’ve tried several different digg buttons integrators etc. No Luck.
